Online Voter Registration :
Eligibility :
** Citizen of India.
** Ordinary resident in Uttarakhand,
** 18years or above on the qualifying date, (generally 1st Jan.each year) and
** Not otherwise disqualified in this connection.

You are entitled to be an Elector in Uttarakhand, if you are :
Inclusion Of Name In The Electoral Rolls :
Any person, whose name is not included in the Electoral Roll of the Assembly Constituency under which his/her residence falls but satisfies the above mentioned criteria, may apply to the District Election Office/SDM of the concerned Assembly Constituency for the inclusion of his/her name in Form-6 (in duplicate).

Procedures :
Procedure for obtaining certified entry of Electoral Roll. After the publication of Rolls you can obtain a copy of the certified entry by approaching the District Election Office concerned. You will be required to deposit requiste fees and thereafter the District Election Office will issue the required certificate.

Rationalisation of Polling Stations :
After the new delimitation, the process of rationalization of Polling Stations in Uttarakhand was conducted and there are around9003 Polling stations in the state.

Caution :
It may be noted that any person who furnishes false information can be prosecuted under the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1950,which prescribes imprisonment upto one year and/or fine for such offences.

Time Bound Disposal Of Applications :
The SDM/Tahsildar concerned would complete his action after necessary verification on all the above mentioned cases in 21 days (maximum period), excluding the date of application and date of publication of the list.

Elector’s Identity Card :
After your name is registered in the Electoral Roll of the concerned Assembly Constituency, you will be eligible for issue of Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC). For the first time; provided other formalities are complete. For issue of photo-identity card, in case of loss, modification etc. it will be issued only after due verification, of 8th day of the date of submission of application by the elector positively.

Issue Of Certified Copies Of Entry In The Electoral Roll & Permission For Inspection Of Entries In Electoral Roll

Inspection fee of Electoral Rolls :
Rs. 5/-per hour or part there of

Extract of electoral rolls of current year :
Rs. 2/-per entry/per head in the same premises.

Additional entry in the same premises :
Rs. 1/-per entry

Extract of electoral roll of previous year :
Rs. 3/-per entry/per head in the same premises for one Revision year.

Addition entry in the same premises :
Rs. 1/-per entry**

A certificate of an entry of the name of person/persons in the current Electoral Roll will be issued on the same day, whereas for the entry in the roll of previous years, at the most, on the 4th day to applicant electors on payment of fee in the form of Court Fee Stamp.

Inspection of a particular entry/entries in the Electoral Roll for a specific year will be permitted by SDM/Tahsildar by making the payment in the form of Court fee stamp by the applicant.

Fee :
** A sum of Rs. 1.00 extra for each roll year prior to current year roll, will be charged for extract.

Urgency Charges :
Double the rates of the normal will be charged if the certificate is required earlier than 04 days period.

All the above mentioned Election related services are available to the public at the offices of SDM between 10 A.M. to 3.00P.M. for submission of all types of applications and 4.00 P.M to 5.00 P.M for collection of certificate/Photo I-Cards etc. on all the working days. Except for the certified copies of entry and inspection of electoral rolls, all election related services are available free of cost.

Qualifications For Membership Of Parliament And Ofthe State Legislative Assembly :
A person shall be qualified to be chosen to fill a seat in Parliament or State Legislative Assembly if he
(1) is a citizen of India .
(2) makes and subscribe before some authorized person an oath or affirmation.
(3) is not less than twenty five years of age, and
(4) is not otherwise disqualified under the relevant laws.

A candidate not setup by a Recognized Political Party shall get his nomination paper subscribed by 10 proposers being electors of that constituency. For a Parliamentary Constituency, the amount of security deposit is Rs. 10,000/- ( Rs. 5,000/- for SC/ST). In case of Assembly Constituency, these amounts are Rs. 5,000/- and Rs. 2,500/- respectively.

Your Duties :
To be an ideal vigilant citizen of Indian democracy
1) Get yourself enrolled as elector and take part in polls, if you satisfy all the necessary conditions.
2) (a) On changing your residence.
(b) On noticing in the Electoral Roll the names of members of family of your neighbour family, who has left to some other place to reside.
(c) On noticing the name of a dead person in the Electoral Roll,
(d) On coming across duplicate entries in Electoral Roll,

  2. I HAVE REGISTERED MYSELF ONLINE FOR ISSUANCE OF VOTER ID CARD. BUT I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY COMMUNICATION FOR ANY PROGRESS.
