Applications are invited for appointment to the post of Junior Engineer (Mechanical) – 1 and Junior Engineer (Electrical) – 1 on contract basis in Cochin Port Trust at a consolidated salary of Rs.17,330/- per month. The appointment will be on contract basis and the selected candidates will not have any claim for regular appointment in Cochin Port Trust.

1. Name of the post : Junior Engineer (Mechanical)
No. of post : one (1) post on contract basis.
Upper Age Limit: 35 years as on 01-11-2013.
Educational Qualification: Degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering or its equivalent qualification recognized by the Govt. OR a Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering or its equivalent qualification recognized by the Govt. with 3 years post qualification experience in the level of supervisory capacity in a State/Central Govt. Organization or a firm registered under Indian companies Act.

2. Name of the post : Junior Engineer (Electrical)
No. of post : One (1) post on contract basis.
Upper Age Limit: 35 years as on 01-11-2013.
Educational Qualification: Degree in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent qualification recognized by the Govt. OR a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent qualification recognized by the Govt. with 3 years post qualification experience in the level of supervisory capacity in a State/Central Govt. Organization or a firm registered under Indian companies Act.

Duties and Responsibilities of Junior Engineer(Mechanical) and Junior Engineer(Electrical):
1. Operation and maintenance of Fixed fire fighting system in Oil Handling Terminal
2. Supervise maintenance related activities of the terminal
3. Liaison with Traffic Dept., Fire section of Cochin Port Trust and various Tank Farm operators to ensure smooth functioning of the terminal.
4. Take operational trials of the fixed fire fighting system in co-ordination with Fire section.
