1. The Department of commercial taxes, Karnataka has introduced the VAT e-filing system to enable the dealers to file the details of purchase and sale electronically through web-based application software with technical support from National Informatics Centre, Bangalore with effect from September 2007.
2. To begin with, 500 dealers were notified as eligible to enter the details of purchases made from and sales made to the dealers registered under the Karnataka Value Added Tax Act.
3. Subsequently, this facility is extended to more than 25000 dealers and, entering the details of export sale out of territory of India is also made mandatory in addition to entering the details of purchase and sale.
4.This initiative of the department has enhanced the efficiency and effectiveness of process of refund claims towards input tax credit.
5. Further, the correctness and veracity of the claim of input tax credit could also be verified once the dealer submits the details of purchase, sale and export sale into the website electronically.
6. All dealers registered under the KVAT ACT, 2003 are enabled to obtain the delivery note in Form VAT 505 electronically through VAT Online System from anywhere any time.
7. In case, at the place of loading of the goods, there is no facility of computer or internet, still the dealers can use the unique number printed on the delivery note in form VAT 505 obtained electronically from a place where computer and internet facility is available.
8. Further, the declarations in C form are also being issued electronically to all the dealers registered under the CST Act 1956.
9. It is mandatory for the dealers to submit the details of interstate purchases electronically to obtain the declarations in C form.
10. However, an option is provided to the dealers to obtain the printout of C forms at their place of business or from the offices of the jurisdictional LVO or VSO after approval by such authorities.

  1. As per Karnataka 29/-4/2014 notification regarding Purchase and Sales Up-loading package is good.
    But my question is on Purchase up-loading package still under confusion for entries because of Main purchase Codes,
    Sub-Commodity codes and Purchase Type what they are given as main Headers of Statement.

    Question are as follows,
    1.Main Purchase Code Commodity for SOAPS & DETERGENTS ?
    2.Sub-Commodity Code for SOAPS & DETERGENTS ?
    3.Purchase Type

    1.Main Purchase Code Commodity for Exempted Purchase(SALT) ?

  2. Let me thank for this opportunity and facility to communicate you people on line for all our problems. My doubt is when I am entering the interstate purchase for the purpose of generating the C forms, all of a sudden the site is showing the error message for long time and we are not able to enter any details which leads to problems. Please help us to sort out this problem and enable us to enter the purchase details(interstate) for the easy generation of C form. Thanks a lot.

  8. I have filed VAT FORM-100 in the month of December 2013. As per VAT-100 refund of Rs. 92545/- should be given. The department is not giving the refund every month. I have discuss with our auditor he says as per KVAT Act, 2003 refund can be issued with the 35 day’s from the submission of VAT-100 but Dept. are not given the refund. Please clarify.     1. Per day Rs. 50/-, for 3 days for delay in the filling of VAT-100.

  11. LET ME KNOW THE PROCEDURES FOR GENERATING C FORMS.

    1. (i) Every such dealer shall log on to the website https://vat.kar.nic.in/.
      (ii) Using the user name and password communicated to him by this office, every such dealer shall proceed to file his request for issue of C Form declarations required towards inter-State purchases made by him, following the instructions contained in the website. Any dealer who is in the list of the dealers required to obtain C Form declarations electronically as displayed in the departmental website https://ctax.kar.nic.in/ shall obtain his user name and password, if it is not communicated to him by 25-04-2009.

      Further, the declarations in C form are also being issued electronically to all the dealers registered under the CST Act 1956.   12. Ours is a tread rubber business and are purchasing rubber at 14.5% where as in our state i.e karnataka on tread there is 5.5% VAT. Where do we claim the difference amount to refund? My question is, is the refund amount be claimed in the same city office or we must go to the division office? How much amount should be there to refund in the same zone and for how much amount we go for district office?

    1. Sorry. The advertisement does not seem to contain about details of amount to refund. If you are having login and password provided by the department you can use it to view Sales,Purchase and Export Invoices details.

    I am working in Govt Enterprise Co, Previously We are giving Form C to Consignee from whom we are receiving good,whatever may be the bill date, Now from April-2013 , It has become on-line, and also Bill dated within 6 month, I wanted to know is there any circular or Rule, so that we can give correct report to the consignee to give all particulars regarding to issue Form C within 6 months.

    1. Using this VAT online website the dealers can submit Form VAT returns ,download the e-Sugam forms, request and download the CST forms,upload the CST Receipt forms, TDS forms, Sales,Purchase and Export Invoices details. These options can be accessed through the username and password provided by the department. Further details can be seen in the user manual available in the web-site. I could not find any rules or circulars available on the website. Please contact through official communication of the website.
