Employment Exchange Kerala Online : EEKO
The Exchange based Application Software in use, Thozhil, developed by NIC, is to be replaced with Web Based Application Software, for any where any time access to the digitized data base and to provide online service to the beneficiaries.

NIC has developed a National level software, Common Application System for Employment Exchange (CASE) for use in Employment Exchanges in various states as per the National Employment Exchange Manual (NESM). The same is to be customized for use in Kerala, incorporating requirements specific to our state.

GAP Analysis has been completed and report submitted to NIC

EEKO is a web based centralized application wherein all the digitalized data will be stored in a central data base at the Kerala State Data Centre. The data can be accessed on a any time any where basis. Connectivity is through KSWAN.

Which are the types of vacancies usually filled through Employment Exchanges? :
Vacancies of Provisional nature (including non-sanctioned posts) in Government/ Quasi Government/Local Body institutions are usually filled through Employment Exchanges. Permanent vacancies which do not come within the purview of Public Service Commission are also filled through Employment Exchanges.
Private Employers, if so desire, can make use of the list of job seekers available with the Employment Exchanges to fill the vacancies in their firms. All the part time contingent posts in State Government and related establishments are filled up through the Employment Exchange. Permanent and temporary vacancies of Central Government, Quasi Central Government and Co-operative sectors also are filled through Employment Exchange.
What is the Procedure for selection against vacancies in Employment Exchanges? :
The Employment Exchange (Compulsory Notification of Vacancies) Act 1959 stipulates that all Act Establishments should compulsorily notify vacancies to Employment Exchanges. If the Employer require the list of suitable candidates,- by considering the seniority of Registration, Age, Qualifications, Priority, Community, submission rules and other existing provisions, selection and submission action is taken and the list of suitable candidates is provided against notified vacancies. Seniority lists maintained in the Employment Exchanges are made use of for making selection of candidates. Like Kerala Public Service Commission, Employment Department also follows Communal Rotation Roster (CRR) system for placement activities.
