Applications are invited for the position of Project Scientist in the laboratory of Prof. Pravat K.Mandal at National Brain Research Centre , Manesar, India. The primary scientific interest of the lab is to identify early in vivo biomarkers for neurodegenerative disorders, particularly Alzheimer’s disease. The lab uses multi-modal neuroimaging techniques, i.e. magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), functional MRI (fMRI), and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) to investigate the associated structural, functional, and neurochemical brain alterations, respectively.

Emoluments: ` 45,000/- per month + 3% increment per year.

Essential Qualifications:
i) Ph.D. degree in relevant discipline (any branch of Science /Engineering) from a recognized university/Institute .
ii) Keen interest in neuroscience research.
iii) Strong research track record as demonstrated by
1. Minimum one year research experience in functional neuroimaging and/or signal processing. The individual should be able to contribute to experimental design and data interpretation.
b. peer-reviewed publications* in relevant fields in indexed journal(s). (*Not including conference abstracts, poster presentations, submitted article etc.).
iv) Excellent scientific communication and writing skills. Experience with writing scientific manuscripts is mandatory requirement.
v) Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and document projects.

Desirable Qualifications:
i) Prior experience and expertise in neurological diseases, aging, or related clinical/translational research is highly desirable.
ii) Prior experience with brain neuroimaging is particularly welcome.
iii) Familiarity with stimulus presentation toolboxes (Eprime/Presentation/PTB, or similar) and neuroimaging software packages (SPM/AFNI/BrainVoyager/FSL or similar) will be a plus.
iv) Prior experience in managing research projects.

** Responsible for conceptualization and design of neuroimaging paradigms.
** Active participation in analysis and interpretation of neuroimaging data.
** Supervision and management of ongoing research projects.
** Publishing results in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Contract: The tenure will be for a period of one year initially and extendable on performance review. The post will be co-terminus with the project. Selected candidates will be required to abide by the rules and regulations of NBRC.
