The 24 hours MCH centers are established by the GOI under NRHM with an aim to encourage institutional deliveries and to reduce Maternal Mortality and Infant Mortality including neo natal mortality. The GOI has provided the additional staff of 2 contractual Staff Nurses per each 24×7 MCH centre in addition to the regular sanctioned staff.

Recruitment of contract Staff Nurses in 24×7 MCH centres under NRHM is aimed for conducting deliveries and initiation of breast feeding. Considering the cultural baground of rural Indian women and to address the gender sensitive issue of women during the Antenatal, Intranatal and Postanal phases of Maternity cycle, it is absolutely needed to recruit female Staff Nurses only to render care to those women in 24×7 MCH centres and the guidelines for recruitment of Staff Nurses are as follows.

1. Notification: Notification is to be issued by concerned DM&HO in News papers with time frame for receipt of applications, last date of receiving applications, Age, Educational Qualifications and certificates to be enclosed along with application, last date of for screening of applications, preparation of merit list, display of merit list, objections time, display of selection list and conducting of counseling

2. Eligibility: Only female candidates are eligible for Staff Nurse post on contract basis in 24×7 MCH centres under NRHM.

3. Age: the minimum and maximum age is 18-38 years and shall be reckoned as on 01.07.2013 with relaxations allotted for maximum age limit as per rules relaxation is as follows:
a) For SCs, STs & BCs (five years)
b) For disabled persons 10 years

4. Educational Qualification:
a) Candidates must have completed Intermediate and GNM or B.Sc (Nursing) for the institution established under Nursing Council of India rules.
b) Candidates must have registered in the A.P Nursing & Midwives Council.

5. Method of Recruitment:
a) 90 marks based on merit obtained in Qualifying examination i,e GNM or B.Sc (Nursing)
(Eg: If the Candidate secured 68% in the qualifying examiniation then she will be given 61.2 marks)
b) 10 marks to the seniority from the year of qualifying exam.
(Eg: if the candidate passed in 2008, then she will get 5 marks)

6. How to Apply:
a) Application forms shall be taken from DM&HO office concerned.
b) Filled in application forms shall be submitted in person to the respective DM&HO office to which the candidate in applying.
c) The attested copies of the following certificates shall be enclosed with the application form
i. SSC or Equivallent
ii. Intermediate or equivalent
iii. Qualifying exam (GNM or B.Sc (N)) pass certificate
iv. Marks memos for all the years
v. Latest Caste Certificate (Non production of this certificate leads to consider as OC)
vi. Study Certificates (4th to 10th Class) (non production of these certificates leads to consider as non local)
vii. PH certificates from Regional Medical Board
viii. Relevant certificates in case of candidates with ex-service man quota.

7. Salary: Consolidated Remuneration of Rs: 12,900/- Per Month (Fixed)

8. Selection Process:
a) Notification shall be issued in two to three news papers in the district edition of the concerned district.
b) Application shall be issued to the candidates in the fixed proforma.
c) Applications shall be received from candidates duly verifying the enclosures and acknowledgement shall give. In case of applications received in post, they shall be verified and issue an acknowledgement. In case of incomplete applications, they shall be rejected.
d) After completion of last date, applications shall be scrutinized and merit list shall be prepared in the following proforma
e) The merit list prepared shall be displayed in the office for calling the objections if any.
f) The objections shall be verified and if valid, then rectification has to be done in the merit list and final merit list has to be finalized.
g) The selection list shall be prepared from the above final merit list.
h) Selection list shall be based on merit and duly following rule of reservation and presidential order.
i) After approval of selection list, selection list and list of vacancies shall be displayed
j) Counseling shall be conducted on the date already announced.
k) Entire process shall be conducted under the close supervision of District Collector or the officer nominated by the District Collector for this purpose.
