Admission to PhD Programme in July, Academic Semester 2014-15 Session
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for Admission to PhD Program in the Department of Computer Science Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Humanities & Basic Sciences (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry). Application form and detailed information can be downloaded from the Institute website www.nitmanipur.ac.in w.e.f. 10.03.2014. The filled up Application Form must be accompanied with an Application Fee of Rs. 300/- (for General/OBC) or Rs. 150/- (for SC/ST) in the form of crossed Demand Draft drawn in favour Director NIT Manipur, payable at Imphal.

ELIGIBILITY :
The candidates for Ph.D. Programme may be offered admission, based on certain minimum academic requirements to be satisfied by the candidates as given below:
1) Engineering and Technology: Master Degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent an appropriate area with a minimum CPI to 60% of marks as per conversion formula prescribed by the University/Institute.
OR
Bachelor excellent academic record and 70% Those Candidates who qualify GATE will be given preference.
2) Sciences (Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics): Science Those Candidates who qualify GATE/UGC-NET will be given preference.
Application form complete in all respects should reach the following address on or before 17-04-2014 by super scribing “Application for admission into PhD programme under…………………..Department”, on the envelope.
APPLICATION CHECKLIST :
The completed application form must be accompanied by the following documents:
i) Photocopy of marks sheet/Grade card of the secondary, higher secondary board and other university examinations.
ii) Photocopy of proof of date of birth.
iii) Photocopy of proper category(OBC/SC/ST/PH etc.) certificate from the competent authority.
iv) Form I/II/III/IV.
v) Four passport size photographs.
SELECTION PROCEDURE :
The admission to Ph.D. Programme will be on the basis of weightage as given below:
** Overall academic performance (to be fixed by the PhD Admission Committee): 70%
** Interview conducted by the Department : 30%
STIPEND / FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE :
Assistantship to regular students who qualified NET/GATE or as per Institute rules may be awarded subject to availability of fund.
