QUALIFYING MARKS IN U.P. COMBIND AGRICULTURE & TECHNOLOGY ENTRANCE TEST -2014 :
The Cut-off percentage of marks in UPCATET 2014 for the merit of successful candidates is 25 % for General/OBC and 15% for SC/ST.

Mode of Admission :
(A) Under Graduate Programme: There shall be one Common Entrance Examination for admission to all Under Graduate Programmes. It shall be of three hours duration and shall consist of 200 questions carrying 600 marks and would be of objective type with multiple choices. The bilingual question paper in English and Hindi will be supplied. There will be four groups of paper as detailed below :

(i) PCB (Code-01) The candidates who have passed/appeared in 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and
Biology stream shall have question paper consisting of composition of questions as follows :-
A. General studies 20 questions
B. Physics 50 questions
C. Chemistry 50 questions
D. Biology 80 questions
The candidates opting for this group can seek admission for degree course in Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Forestry, Veterinary Science and B.Tech. (Biotechnology).

(ii) PCM (Code-02) The candidates who have passed/ appeared in 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics stream shall have question paper consisting of composition of questions as follows :-
A. General studies 20 questions
B. Chemistry 50 questions
C. Physics 50 questions
D. Mathematics 80 questions
The candidates opting for this group can seek admission for the degree course in Agriculture, Horticulture, Home Science and B.Tech.

(iii) PAG (Code-03) The candidates who have passed/appeared in 10+2 examination with Agriculture stream shall have question paper consisting of composition of questions as follows :
General studies 20 questions
Agril. Physics 25 questions
Agril. Chemistry 25 questions
Agril. Zoology 25 questions
Agril. Botany 25 questions}50 question
The candidates opting for this group can seek admission for degree course in Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, B.Tech. in Agril. Engineering, Biotechnology.

(iv) PHS (Code-04) The candidates who have passed/ appeared in 10+2 examination in Art stream with Home
Science only:
General Studies 20 questions
English 25 questions
Hindi 25 questions
Sociology 20 questions
Economics 15 questions
Geography 15 questions
Home Science 80 questions
The candidates opting for this group can seek admission for degree course in B.Sc. (Home Science) only.
The candidates having Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology subjects (PCMB) at his/her 10+2 level will have to indicate his/her choice of the group of paper for Entrance Examination in the Application Form. These candidates can either opt for PCB paper (Code-01) or PCM paper (Code-02). They can seek admission for degree Programme as per their qualification and group of paper in the entrance examination.

(B) Masters Programme :
It shall be of three hours duration and shall consist of 200 questions carrying 600 marks except MBA (100 questions carrying 300 marks) and would be of objective type with multiple choice.

Method of Selection :
The admission shall be made strictly in order of merit-cum-reservation, based on the aggregate marks obtained by the candidates in the U.P. Combined Agriculture and Technology Entrance Test -2014.
(i) For U.G. Programmes In the event of two or more candidates securing equal marks, the merit shall be decided on the basis of marks secured in the D, C, B and then marks in the qualifying examination.
(ii) For Master Programmes: In the event of two or more candidates securing equal marks the merit shall be decided on the basis of marks secured in the A, B, C and then qualifying examination.
(iii) For Ph.D. Programmes If the marks Secured by two or more candidate will be the same, the merit shall be decided on the basis of marks secured in the C, B, A and then qualifying examination. In the event of tie between candidates of different paper groups of UG Programmes the younger will be placed at higher merit.

SYLLABUS FOR DIFFERENT PROGRAMMES
(i) Under Graduate Programmes : Syllabus prescribed by U.P. Board for Intermediate Examination in the concerned subject.
(ii) Master Programmes : Syllabus of Under Graduate Courses in the concerned subject
(iii) Ph.D. Programmes : Syllabus of Master’s Programmes of concerned subject
(iv) Statistics For Ph.D. Programme
Measures of central tendency and dispersion, Skewness and kurtosis, Probability, Normal distribution 2 (properties only); Test of significance ( t, Z, f and X – test), Regression and correlation (including partial and multiple correlations with their test of significance), Sampling theory with reference to crop estimation survey (random, stratified and multistage sampling). Analysis of variance, Principles of experimental designs, Completely Randomized Design, Randomized Block Design, Latin Square Design, Factorial Expermiments ( 3 2 factorial experiments), Split Plot Design, Analysis of Covariance; Missing plot Technique ( in R.B.D. and L.S.D. with one value missing)
(v) M.B.A. (Agri-Business) Programme: General Knowledge, Reasoning & Aptitude and General English of High School Standard.

Mode of admission for M.B.A. (Agri-Business) :
All candidates seeking admission to MBA (Agri-Business) will have to appear in the screening test comprising of 100 multiple-choice questions. The test will be of two hours duration. Candidates qualifying in the entrance examination will be short-listed on the basis of merit. Short-listed candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview with Faculty / Admission Committee.The Group Discussion and Personal Interview shall carry 150 and 50 marks, respectively. A comprehensive merit list will be drawn for final selection of the candidates for admission.

COUNSELLING :
i. The qualified candidates, as per merit, shall be called for counselling on a specified date and time for consideration to admission in various Undergraduate, Master’s and Ph.D. Programmes. The counselling will continue till the last seat in each Programme is filled-up. The candidate will not be informed by post. The counselling letter will be downloaded from the website www.upcatet.org.
ii. No letter, fax or telegram enquiring about the result of the U.P. Combined Agriculture & Technology Entrance Test– 2014 will be entertained.
iii. The candidates will have to report at the counselling place as per schedule given in counselling letter for checking of relevant documents and depositing prescribed fee. Those candidates who do not turn up at their call will be given a chance at the end of the day. They can claim only the Programmes in which seats are available at that time and as per their qualifications/groups.
iv. The candidates coming for personal appearance should bring along with them the following documents (in Five sets) for checking and depositing before counselling.
1. Attested photocopies of High School Certificate and Marks-sheet along with the originals.
2. Attested photocopies of Intermediate Certificate and Marks-sheet along with the originals.
3. Attested photocopies of Marks-sheet and Certificate of Bachlor and Master degree qualification that he/she may possess along with the originals.
4. Domicile Certificate of Uttar Pradesh State issued by the competent authority.
5. Sport Weightage Certificate in original.
6. Character and Conduct Certificate in original from the Head of the Institution last attended.
7. Five-passport size photographs with name and Roll Number written on the back.
8. Original copy of OBC category certificate issued after 31.3.2014.
9. An affidavit accounting for discontinuity of more than three months after leaving the Institution last attended.
10. T.C. (Transfer Certificate)/Migration in original.
11. Declaration form duly signed by the candidate and countersigned by the parents/guardian for nonparticipation in ragging.
12. Medical fitness certificate in the prescribed format.
13. If any candidate fails to deposit counselling fee and an Advance Institution fee and original certificates, the admission would not be granted and he/she would loose his/her claim for admission.
14. At the time of Counselling candidates have to bring a Bank Draft of 500/- for counselling fee and 5000/- for initial fee, in favour of Comptroller, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture & Technology, Meerut payable at S.B.I. SVPAU (code No. 10653).
