YOUNG TALENT NURTURE 2014 :
Introduction :
The Department of Mathematics, IIST conducts the second level of “YOUNG TALENT NURTURE (YTN)” program from 13th to 25th May of 2014 as part of IIST @ Mathematics Initiative, an outreach program of the department. The participants are those students who have completed IV semester or II year B.Sc/B.Tech/Integrated M.Sc with Mathematics as one of the courses of their study.
This course will be a continuation of the 1st level of YTN conducted in 2013 for II semester/ I year students of various institutions, universities and colleges. The topics under discussion are Integration, vector calculus, algebra and linear algebra. The aim of the summer course is to identify the talented students and nurture them to excel in the beautiful world of Mathematics.
This program may create opportunities for the participants to access another culture and educational experience. We hope that the program can serve academic needs of students, and help them to understand the fundamentals of Mathematics.
** II year B.Sc/B.Tech/Integrated M.Sc students who have completed their IV semester can apply.
** The participants will be provided free boarding and lodging during the program.
** No registration fees.
** Interested students are requested to apply online.
** The participants will be paid sleeper class/II class train/bus fare by the shortest route.
** A teacher who knows the mathematical background of the student has to recommend the applicant to consider the application.
** The recommendation letter can be sent to the email address maths.ytn@iist.ac.in, maths@iist.ac.in in the format given in the website or can fill online.

Last date for receiving the recommendation letter from the concerned teacher: 24rd April 2014
List of selected candidates will be published on: 26th April 2014
