Pollinate Energy Indian Fellowship 2014

Name of the Organization : Pollinate Energy Ltd (pollinateenergy.org)
Name of the Fellowship : Indian Fellowship 2014
Location : Bangalore

Website : https://pollinateenergy.org/

Indian Fellowship 2014 :
Prerequisites :
We look for candidates who are in India, speak Kannada, and are currently working or studying.

What to expect :
Indian Fellows take on two assignments during the the program. Firstly, a group research project with two visiting fellows targeting a core area of interest for the organization on topics such as product development, communications and fundraising and business processes.

Secondly, Indian Fellows are teamed with a ‘pollinator’ – a pre-screened local, motivated to start their own clean energy business – and two fellows or young professionals to assist with mapping out communities that will become customers of solar powered lights. Indian Fellows will assist with training their pollinator by developing their pollinator’s sales strategy and customer leads in the office and spending each evening in Bangalore’s urban slums. This provides moral and technical support to ensure their pollinator becomes a confident, technically capable salesperson.

Indian Fellows play a key role in working with our international program participants, translating conversations into English when visiting the communities we work in and introducing them to local Indian customs. Travelling expenses will be covered by Pollinate Energy, while the work itself is voluntary. You will also attend an initial training program where you will learn skills and strategies for working in the development sector.

Who are we looking for :
We are looking for four candidates who will be selected on their ability to demonstrate an interest in social entrepreneurship and an enthusiasm for improving energy access in a country like India. No prior experience in energy or technology is required and students from all education backgrounds are encouraged to apply. We require fluency in Kannada and English, while knowledge of Telugu is desirable.
