Amateur Digital Photography Contest :
Kerala State Biodiversity Board invites photographers for the Amateur digital photography contest “Green Images – 2014” under two categories 1) Age group 10 years to 18 years and 2) 18 years and above. The contest is open from 30th April to 10th May 2014. The theme of the competition for 1st category is “The diverse nature” and 2nd category is “Biodiversity -Our Heritage, Our Wealth”.
The event carries a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 for the 1st prize and Rs. 3,000 for the second prize winner. In addition 4 consolation prizes of Rs. 500/- will be awarded. A maximum of five digital photographs of size 1 Mb to 5 MB each, with duly filled up entry form are to be sent by e-mail to greenimages2014@gmail.com . The photos will be posted in Kerala State Biodiversity Board face book with due credit to the sender. The most liked entry in face book under each category will be given a separate prize. Only those photographs that have not been published in any of newspaper or magazine will be considered. The prizes will be distributed in a public function in connection with the International day for Biological Diversity on May 22nd at Thiruvananthapuram.
Rules :
1. The contest is open to all Indian citizen except employees of Kerala State Biodiversity Board
2. Kerala State Biodiversity Board has the right to use the photos for its publications and website
3. The photos previously published elsewhere will not be eligible for the contest 4. A person can send maximum five photos. But separate entry form should be attached with each photo
5. The size of the photo should be between 1MB to 5 MB for each and they should be send in .JPG file format
6. If selected for prize the original photo along with proof of address and age should be produced before Kerala State Biodiversity Board
7. False entries will be rejected

Amateur Short Film Contest :
Kerala State Biodiversity Board invites entries to an Amateur short film contest “Green snippets 2014” on the theme “Life, Biodiversity and Man”. The contest is open from 1st May to 15th May 2014. Indian citizens above age of 18 years are eligible to apply. The event carries a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 for the 1st prize and Rs. 3,000 for the second prize winners. Four consolation prizes of Rs 500/- each will also be awarded.
Short films of 1 min to 3 min duration along with entry form shall be sent by e-mail to greensnippets2014@gmail.com . The short film will be uploaded in YouTube with due credit to the sender. An award will also be given to the most liked short film in YouTube.
The prizes will be distributed in a public function in connection with the International day for Biological Diversity on May 22nd at Thiruvananthapuram.
