108 Services:
Minister for Aarogyasri P. Satyanarayana on Monday launched a website AP108.com containing all data of 108 emergency services in the State.
The website would provide data on the number of ambulances in operation, a daily report of the previous day’s working, details of beneficiaries, their addresses and phone numbers ( if available), number of lives saved, types of emergencies, procurement process, HR policies and other details.
out of a total of 802 ambulances, 752 were in operation. The ambulances have attended to 36, 73, 958 emergencies till date.
About 108:
On 2nd April, 2005 Government of Andhra Pradesh signed an MoU with GVK Emergency Managment and Research Institute (EMRI)where by GVK EMRI was appointed as a state level nodal agency to provide emergency response services across the state in Public Private Partnership (PPP) and in coordination with the public agencies.
108 Emergency Response Services:
On August 15, 2005, Honorable Chief Minister Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy launced the 108 Emergency Response Services in Hyderabad with 30 ambulances. Andhra Pradesh is the first state in the country to have launched and intergertaed emergency reponse service. Today 752 ambulances serve the entire state of Anndhra Pradesh. Anyone from anywhere at anytime can call 108 in case of any emergency and get a timely and appropriate help absolutely free.
108 Emergency Response Services under Rajiv Aarogyasri Scheme
The 108 Emergency Response Service is a part of the Andhra Pradesh Government’s Rajiv Aarogyasri Health Scheme. The objective being to reduced mortality and have an free emergency service accessible to everyone across the state.
