Term Examination Blue Print for the year 2010 – 2011
Class: I to III
Max. Marks: 50 Time: 2 hours
The question paper will have four sections:
(Section A) Reading – 10 marks
(Section B) Writing – 15 marks
(Section C) Grammar – 10 marks
(Section D) Literature – 15 marks
(Section A) Reading – 10 marks
One Seen Passage (50 to 70 words)
One Seen Poem (8 – 10 lines)
MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) ½ x 8 = 4
Fill in the blanks ½ x 8 = 4
Short answer questions 1 x 2 = 2
Types of questions – Word attack (Synonyms / Antonyms OR Puzzle), .
rhyming words (not from the poem), Complete the given line, Fill in the
letters and complete the word, etc.

(Section B) Writing – 15 marks
(B 1) Picture composition (Seen picture)
(Complete the sentences based on the story/picture
Rearranging the sentences based on the picture) 1 x 5 = 5
(B 2) Make meaningful sentences with the jumbled words. (For Std. I & II)
Letter writing -An informal letter with help box or clues (For Std. III) 1 x 5 = 5
(B 3) Word building (Vocabulary) 1 x 5 = 5

(Section C) Grammar – 10 marks
(C 1) MCQ(Multiple Choice Questions) – Choose the correct answer. ½ x 4 = 2
(C 2) MCQ(Multiple Choice Questions) – Fill in the blanks. ½ x 4 = 2
(C 3) Match ½ x 4 = 2
(C 4) Circle the odd one out. ½ x 4 = 2
(C 5) Jumbled letters(For Std. I & II) ½ x 4 = 2
Jumbled words(For Std. III) 1 x 2 = 2

(Section D) Literature – 15 marks
(D 1) D1.1 & D1.2 – Two extracts(one prose and one poem)
MCQ(Multiple Choice Questions) ½ x 8 = 4
(D 2) Name the following. ½ x 4 = 2
(D 3) Number the sentences in the correct order. ½ x 4 = 2
(D 4) Short answer questions 1 x 3 = 3
(D 5) Correct the sentences. (related to Literature lessons) 1x 2 = 2
(D 6) Fill in the gaps with correct words.

Rearranging the sentences based on the pictures/sequencing 1 x 5 = 5
(B 2) Match the two parts of the sentences given under column ‘A’ and ‘B’. Add ‘but’ to join the two parts and write complete sentences.
Complete the conversation between two people (Eg: doctor-patient, teacher-student, customer- shopkeeper, etc.)
* Dialogues of any one person is to be given. 1 x 5 = 5
(B 3) Paragraph writing (10 sentences Eg: describing person / pet / sportsman / games / place / book/ etc. related to text)
Imaginary situation (give an opening line)
Story writing (known / moral story from the text or with clues) 1 x 5 = 5

(Section C) Grammar – 10 marks
(C 1) MCQ(Multiple Choice Questions) – Fill in the blanks. (Grammatical
concepts to be tested. Choices to be given.) ½ x 8 = 4
(C 2) Do as directed.
(Frame questions, Punctuate, Change the tense -present to past etc.) ½ x 8 = 4
(C 3) Rearranging words to make meaningful sentences. 1 x 2 = 2

(Section D) Literature – 15 marks
(D 1) D1.1 & D1.2 – Two extracts(one prose and one poem)
MCQ(Multiple Choice Questions) ½ x 8 = 4
(D 2) Give one word for the following. ½ x 4 = 2
(D 3) Complete the following sentences. ½ x 4 = 2
(D 4) Short answer questions 1 x 3 = 3
