Society Registration :
A society intend to register under the act must follow the following procudre.
1.Memorandum of Association in duplicate as per model.
2.Bye Laws in duplicate as per model
3.Notary Affidavit from president/secretary on Rs. 10/- Non-Judicial stamp as per model.
4.Resolution of first meeting as per model.
5.Application for registration from president/secretary as per model.
6.Fee of Rs. 1500/- payble in either in cash or through bank draft payble at Dehradun/Haldwani in favour of Assistant Registrar

Society Renewal :
Every Society registered under this act is valid for five years.There after society is to be renewed.

The procedure for renewal of society is as under :-
(1)Application for Renewal on prescribed form as per model..
(2)Original Certificate must be attached with application.
(3)List of Executive Commitee should be filled in every year. List should contain names, address and occupations of the members of the governing body.
(4)Every society should furnish its annual accounts duly audited by a chartered Accountant.
(5)Election proceedings as per Registered By laws. The Election proceeding should be filed within the fourteenth day of such election is conducted .
(6)(a) Reenewal fees Rs. 500/- (Five Hundred) is payble,if such application is filed within the renewal due .
(b)A late fee of Rs 50.00 per month is payble for every month of delay.
(c)A permission fee of Rs. 600/- is payble if renewal is applied for after twelve month of delay.

Every application for Renewal of the certificate shall be accompanied by a list of members of the managing body elected after the Registration of the Society or the Renewal of the Certificate of Registration and also the Certificate is sought to be renewal unless dispensed with by the Registrar on the ground of its loss or destruction or other sufficient cause.

A Society which fails to get its certificate of registration renewed in accordance with this section with in one year from the expiration of the period for which the certificate was operative,shall become an unregistered society.

A notary affidavit is required to be submitted if renewal is applied after expiration of more than one year containing the fact that there is no litigation in the society.

Society Copying :
Document of a Society Registered with the Registrar is a public Document,any person may obtain copy of any Document or part thereof by paying fees fixed by State Government from time to time.

The following procedure is to be followed for getting copy :
(1)An Application addressed to Registrar court fees ticket paise 50 afixed on it
(2)Blank non judicial stamp paper of Rs. 3/- in name of society whose document are required for each set of document.
(3)Fees as per detail below
(a)Urgent copy of certificate Rs. 200/- per Registration/ Renewal Certificate.
(b) Ordinary copy of certificate Rs. 100/- per Registration / Renwal Certificate.
(c) Urgent copy of documents Rs.120/- per page.
(d) Ordinary copy of documents Rs.60/- per page.

Copy against payment of urgent fees shall be issued within 24 hours,and copy against ordinary fees shall be issued after 4 working days.

Copy of document can be obtained through post also, for that self addressed enevelope with requisite postal stamp is to be enclosed along with application form. Normally certified copy of registered document is issued however copy of unregistered document can also be issued provided that Registrar is convinced

Society File Inspection :
Any person may inspect all documents filed with the Registrar under this act on payment of fees Rs. 200.00 per society, per day, or part thereof.However confidential part,noting,legal opinion of the file cannot be allowed to inspect.

  • I have a confusion, please clear that the documents/forms required for registration. Some officials told us that registration is processed online only.
