The CCRS is the Apex body in India for formulation, co-ordination, development and promotion of research in Siddha. The Council carries out its activities and function through its network of 5 Institutes/Units located in Chennai, Puducherry, Thiruvananthapuram, Palayamkottai and Mettur dam. There is also an attractive performance based time-bound In-situ promotion scheme and special allowance for “Group – A” Medical Doctors and Non-Medical Scientists of this Council. Applications are invited for the following posts to be filled by Direct Recruitment.

1. Name of the posts : Research Officer (Siddha)
No. of vacancy : Five (Un-reserved-3, SC-1, ST-1) By Direct Recruitment
Age : 40 Years and below as on 01-01-2014.
Scale of Pay : Pay band (PB-3) (Rs.15600- 39100+Grade Pay of Rs.5400/-)
Qualifications : Essential:
1. Postgraduate Degree in Siddha system of medicine from Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R.Medical University, Chennai/ Recognized University from Tamil Nadu. OR
2. Postgraduate Degree in Siddha system of medicine from a CCIM recognized Institution.
3. 8 years professional experience after obtaining Degree out of which 2 years experience should be in Research/Teaching in a recognized Institution/Research Council/College /University.
4. Enrolment in the Central/State Register of Indian Medicine/ Siddha as the case may be.
Desirable:
1. Publications/Published Articles in peer reviewed journals.
2. Experience in project work in Siddha Research/ SRFs working in CCRS.
3. Diploma/Certificate course from recognized University/Institute in Clinical research and computer application.

2. Name of the posts : Research Officer(Pharmacognosy)
No. of vacancy : One (Un-reserved) -By Direct Recruitment
Age : 40 Years and below as on 01-01-2014.
Scale of Pay : Pay band (PB -3) (Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs.5400/-)
Qualifications : Essential:-
1. M.Sc. in Botany/ Medicinal Plants/ M.Pharm Pharmacognosy from a recognized university with 5 years research/teaching experience in the area of Pharmacognosy. OR
2. Doctorate Degree in relevant subject with 3 years experience in research/teaching experience in the area of Pharmacognosy.
Desirable:
1. Publications/Published Articles in Peer reviewed Journals
2. Experience in Project work in Traditional Medicine Research or SRFs working in CCRS.
3. Diploma/Certificate course from recognized University/Institute in computer application.

3. Name of the posts : Stenographer Grade-C

Scale of Pay : Pay Band (PB-2) Rs.9300-34800 With Grade Pay GP.Rs.4200/-.
Qualification : Essential:-
1. 12th (+2) class or equivalent from recognized Board/University.
2. Skill test norms
Dictation: 10 minutes @ 120 words per minute.
Transcription: 50 words per Minute (English), only on computer
3. Diploma/certificate course from recognized University/Institutes in Computer Application.
Desirable: Knowledge of Tamil typing

4. Name of the posts : Lower Division Clerk

Scale of Pay : Pay Band (PB-1) Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay GP.Rs.1900/-.
Qualifications : Essential:-
1. 12th (+2) class or equivalent from recognized Board/university
2. Typing speed of 35 w.p.m in English, only on computer.
Desirable:-
1. Certificate course from recognized university/institute in computer application.
2. Knowledge of Tamil typing.

5. Name of the posts : Lab Attendant

Age : 27 Years and below as on 01-01-2014.
Scale of Pay : Pay Band (PB-1) Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay GP.Rs.1900/-.
Qualification : Essential: 1. 12th (+2) class or equivalent with Science subjects from recognized Board/University.
Desirable:
1. Certificate course from recognized University/Institutes in Computer Application
2. Experience in recognized Laboratory.

6. Name of the posts : Driver
No.of vacancy : One (Un-reserved) -By Direct Recruitment
Age : 27 Years and below as on 01-01-2014.
Scale of Pay : Pay Band (PB-1)Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay GP.Rs.1900/-.
Qualification : Essential:
1. Possession of a valid Driving license for motor cars.
2. Knowledge of automobile mechanism (the candidate should be able to set right minor defects in vehicle)
3. Experience of driving a motor car for at least 3 years.
4. Pass in 10th standard from recognized school.
Desirable: 3 Yrs service as Home Guard/ Civil Volunteers.

Fee : Demand draft for Rs.100/- for OBC/General candidates and Rs.20/- for SC/ST candidates, which has to be drawn in favour of Central Council for Research In Siddha, payable at Chennai.

How to Apply :
i) The application forms can be downloaded from the Website.

ii) Candidates desiring to receive the application form by post are requested to send requisition along with sufficiently stamped self-addressed envelope. The application along with self-attested copies of educational qualifications, experience, age, community certificate etc… should be enclosed along with the application with two recent passport size photographs, apart from that one recent passport size photograph has to be affixed in the first page of the application on the space provided and a demand draft.

iii) Original certificates have to be produced at the time of written test/Interview. Testimonials and certificates should be produced by the physically Handicapped and Women candidates, who are exempted from the application fee. The candidates should mention “Application for the post of ____________” in bold letters on the right side top of the envelope.

iv) The date, time and venue of the written test, interview will be communicated to the candidates, for which candidates are requested to enclose one self-addressed envelope (11x5cm) affixing postal stamps worth Rs.25/- along with the duly filled in prescribed Application Form in a separate cover.
