Admission to First Year / Direct Second Year (Separate Division & Lateral Entry) of Three year full time Post Graduate Degree course in Master of Computer Applications (MCA) for the academic year 2014-15

Applications are invited for MAH-MCA-CET 2014 for admission to First Year / Direct Second Year (Separate Division & Lateral Entry) of Three year full time Post Graduate Degree course in Master of Computer Applications (MCA) in the Government, Govt. Aided, University Managed, University Departments and Unaided Institutes in the Maharashtra State.

Eligibility Criteria for appearing to MAH-MCA-CET 2014:
The candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
Passed with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate* or equivalent CGPA ( 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelor’s degree awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India and having studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination. (Candidates appearing for final year of qualifying examination are also eligible to appear for CET)

Instructions for Registration for MAH-MCA-CET 2014 by candidate:
** MAH–MCA-CET 2014 shall be conducted only in the ONLINE mode in multiple sessions at all examination centers which will include multiple choice objective type questions (MCQs), using standardized equi-percentile method, will be equating scores across sessions. The question paper for the CET will be set in English only. Translations in any other languages will not be available.

** The Online CET would be comprised of two online papers viz. General Aptitude (GA) and Computer Concepts (CC) of 100 marks each, with composite time of 90 minutes duration. Each paper shall have 25 questions

** Note that MAH–MCA-CET 2014 will have negative mark system. Each correct answer will carry 4 marks. Each wrong answer will carry 1 negative mark. Unanswered questions will carry zero marks.

** It should be noted that no documents are required to be submitted at this stage. Candidates are advised to keep the necessary documents ready at the time of Document verification stage at ARC as per the notified schedule.

** Application form processing fees as stated below is to be paid at the identified Axis Bank Branches, in cash only, through Pay-in-Slip. The candidate can also do online payment of the fees by Internet Payment, Credit Card/ Debit Card payment gateway for which the service charges, as per rules, shall be applicable in addition to the application form processing fees. No other mode of payment shall be permitted.

For Open Category Candidates from Maharashtra State, Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), J & K Migrant candidates and NRI/Foreign National/Foreign Students/ PIO/Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries Candidates Rs. 750/-
For Candidates of Backward Class Categories [SC, ST, VJDT NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC] & Persons with Disability Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only. Rs. 550/-

** The Centralized Admission Process will consist of total four rounds, out of which first three rounds shall be based on computerized allotment and last round by counseling. Candidates are instructed to carefully read the Annexure-I of the Information Brochure to understand the eligibility criteria for participating in each round.

** Applications sent by Post/Courier etc., to ARCs/DTE office will be rejected and no communication in this regard will be made.

** The candidates belonging to SC, VJ/DT (NT (A)), NT (B), NT(C), NT (D), OBC and SBC categories should produce “Caste Validity Certificate” issued by Scrutiny Committee of Social Welfare Department and the Candidate belonging to ST category should submit “Tribe Validity Certificate” issued by Scrutiny Committee of Tribal Department and valid Non Creamy Layer certificate except SC,ST candidates at the time of verification of documents at ARC.

3. Issue of Hall Ticket through candidates login of successfully registered candidates 18-03-2014 onwards
4. Date of the Online MAH-MCA-CET 2014 30-03-2014
5. Declaration of the result of the MAH-MCA-CET 2014 07/04/2014 at 5.00PM
6. Document verification, updation and confirmation of Application Form for Admission in person at ARC for Maharashtra State/OMS/J&K candidates. 14-05-2014 to 23-05-2014 up to 5.00PM

  1. I have paid e -challan, then what is the next step?

    1. After the confirmation of fee deposited from Bank/DTE, the candidate will be able to print the Application Form. The Application ID printed on the computer generated Application Form must be mentioned in all such correspondences. It is therefore essential to note down the Application ID printed on the Application Form. You have to wait for the hall ticket.

  2. I have an existing K.T. of B.Sc.IT Semester 5 on Feb 2014, I will give K.T. exams on April 2014 and result will be on June-July 2014. My question is can I still appear on CET and give exams?

    1. The candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

    May I pay the fee on line by my ICICI bank debit card?

    1. Pay Application Fee either by any Credit Card / Debit Card / Internet Banking or by e-Challan to be submitted at any Axis Bank Ltd in India.

      Payment by Credit Card / Debit Card / Internet Banking : The candidate has to select Credit Card / Debit Card / Internet Banking option to pay the application fee and follow the online instruction to complete the payment of fee. After successful payment, candidate will be able to print the Application Form.

      Payment by Bank e-challan : The candidate has to select e-challan option to deposit the application fee through e-Challan mode. As soon as he/she selects, an e-Challan will be generated containing specific details of the candidate along with amount to be paid. The candidate has to take a printout of the same and take it to the nearest branch of the Axis bank for making payment. After the confirmation of fee deposited from Bank/DTE, the candidate will be able to print the Application Form.
