The Public Service Commission, West Bengal will hold the West Bengal Judicial Service Examination, 2014 in accordance with the existing rules for recruitment to the posts in West Bengal Judicial Service. The necessary particulars are stated in the following paragraphs. A candidate should verify from the notified rules that he/she is eligible for admission to the examination. The conditions prescribed cannot be relaxed.

Name of the Examination : WEST BENGAL JUDICIAL SERVICE EXAMINATION, 2014
Scale of Pay : Rs.27,700-770-33090-920-40450-1080-44770/-. Allowances will also be admissible as per Government orders in force.
Vacancy : Existing – 39 & Anticipated – 25 = 64

Qualification :
(i) A citizen of India or such a person of other nationality as declared eligible by Government of India;
(ii) A degree in Law from any University or Institution affiliated to any University recognized by the State Government or the Central Government;
(iii) Enrolment as an advocate in the roll of Bar Council of any State or Union Territory in India on the date of advertisement for the examination;
(iv) Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required in the case of Nepali speaking candidates of the three Hill Sub-divisions of Darjeeling District, viz., Darjeeling Sadar, Kalimpong and Kurseong ).

Age : Not less than 23 years and not more than 35 years on the date of advertisement for the examination on 01.03.2014 (i.e. born not earlier than 02.03.1979 and not later than 01.03.1991).

Selection :
The Examination will be held in three successive stages, viz.,
(i) Preliminary Examination (multiple choice objective type),
(ii) Final Examination (Conventional Type – Written) and
(iii) Personality Test.

Fee : Candidates must enclose with their application a fee of Rs.210/- (Rupees Two Hundred Ten) only in the form of Indian Postal Order which must be purchased on a date after publication of this advertisement and crossed and endorsed to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal or in the form of a receipted Challan from a Government Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC-Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16-other fees”.

between 11-00 a.m. and 03-30 p.m. on all working days (Saturdays and Sundays are holidays) or sent by post (strictly by registered or speed post or U.C.P.) on or before the closing date addressed to the Deputy Secretary (Examination), Public Service Commission, West Bengal at the above address superscribing on the envelope the advertisement no. and name of the examination.

Closing Date For Receipt Of Application : The 31st March, 2014

Note :
The Preliminary Examination will be held in Kolkata and Darjeeling in May, 2014 or thereabout. Only candidates of the three Hill Sub-divisions, viz., Darjeeling Sadar, Kalimpong and Kurseong will be allowed to appear at Darjeeling Centre. All candidates with low vision including those from the district of Darjeeling who require the help of scribe will be allowed to appear at Kolkata Centre only. The Final Examination will be held at Kolkata in July, 2014 or thereabout.

  1. On 2012 I applied for wb judicial exam but did not appeared due to some personal problem. In 2014 I am also applied for the examination but my question is whether I will get 3 chances as a general category candidate in-spite of my previous application or 2 chances?
