Zonal Computing Olympiad Online Programming Contest 2014 :
An online programming contest, the Zonal Computing Olympiad 2014 (ZCO-2014), will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013. About 50 students will qualify for the Indian National Olympiad in Informatics 2014 (INOI-2014), to be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014. This is in addition to those who qualify for INOI-2014 via the Zonal Informatics Olympiad 2014 (ZIO-2014) that will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013.

About ZCO-2014 :
The official programming languages supported are C and C++. You should ensure that you are using an ANSI compiler compatible with gcc/g++/gpp (the GNU C/C++ Compilers). In particular, Turbo C is not compatible. Publicly available ANSI C compilers for Microsoft Windows include Dev-C++ and DJGPP.

Registering and taking part in ZCO-2014 :
** You have to register online for ZCO-2014 using the online registration form.
** You can update your details at any time using the update form
** You can take part on any computer that is connected to the Internet, including your home computer. The contest will be hosted on the IARCS ZCO server. You must separately set up a username and password for yourself on this server. You will be asked to enter your ZCO username when you fill out the online registration form. You must fill in this information, so please create your account on the ZCO server before filling out the online registration form.
** There is a participation fee of Rs 100.

** You need to enter details of your DD in the registration form. However, you can register initially without filling in the DD details and update them later. Unless your fee details are entered before ZCO-2014, your code will not be evaluated
** Note that the IARCS ZCO server is separate from the IARCS Online Judge, which has an archive of problems for you to practice your programming skills. The two servers maintain separate sets of usernames and passwords.
** After ZCO-2014 is over, you have to send us a letter certifying that you participated in ZCO-2014 without any external help. This letter must be signed by one of your parents and countersigned by an authority from your school, with a school seal or stamp.
** Your solutions will not be evaluated unless such a letter is received by us before Friday, December 13, 2013.
** Please remember that you must create an account on the ZCO server to register and participate in ZCO-2014.
** Zonal Olympiad in Informatics, 2014, Saturday, November 23, 2013
** The Zonal Informatics Olympiad, 2014 (ZIO-2014) will be held from 10 :00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 23, 2013. ZIO-2014 is the first round towards qualifying for the team to represent India at the International Olympiad in Informatics, 2014 (IOI-2014), to be held in Taiwan in July, 2014.
** The exam will be held at various centres throughout the country. Exact details about examination centres and how to register are given below.
** ZIO-2014 will be a written exam along the same lines as in previous years. Previous question papers and solutions are available online

Registration procedure for ZIO-2014 :
Participation in ZIO-2014 is open to all students who are in 8th-12th standard during the academic year 2013-2014.

Note :
** Registration is open to students from all school boards, not just students studying in CBSE schools.
** The examinations will be conducted in about 35 cities across the country and West Asia. Each of these cities will have one or more nodal centres which will be responsible for the conduct of the examinations.
** Applications for participating in ZIO-2014 should be sent through the school principal.
** Each school principal is requested to forward the list of candidates participating in ZIO-2014 to the nodal centre along with the examination fee on or before November 14, 2013.
** The fee for each participant will be Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred only). A consolidated demand draft for all the participants of your school may be drawn in favour of Secretary, CBSE, Delhi.
** No admit card or roll number will be issued. Instead, when candidates go to write the examination, they should carry with them a bonafide certificate with their photograph attested by the principal of their school.
