Oxford University India Research Paper Competition 2013-14:
The Faculty of Law of the University of Oxford is pleased to announce The Annual Oxford University India Research Paper Competition 2013-14, and cordially invites university students to enter the competition.

The competition is designed to encourage intellectual discourse in wider society as well as to give Indian students an opportunity to exhibit their knowledge of contemporary business and social issues in India. The 2013-14 competition seeks to address a variety of contemporary issues, ranging from privacy and state surveillance of individuals, to sporting fraud prevention and sports law reforms, to recent developments in corporate governance and social responsibility.

All students are eligible to apply and participation in the competition is free. The registration deadline is January 01, 2014, and the papers must reach the Organizing Committee via email by February 1, 2014.

Research Topics :
The research topics for the Oxford University India Research Paper Competition 2013-14 are as follows :
Topic A : Evaluate the concept of corporate social responsibility as expressed in the Companies Act 2013.
Topic B : Should gambling on the outcomes of sporting events be legalized in India-
Topic C : Do India’s laws governing the surveillance of electronic communications strike the right balance between security and the right to privacy- If they do not, what reforms are needed to achieve the correct balance-

Eligibility :
Subject to these rules, the Competition is open to all students, enrolled bona fide on a regular basis in any full-time degree program at any recognized University/ College/ Institution. All team member(s) of a Team shall be students of the same institution only.

Participation Fees :
Participation in the Competition is free for all teams

Registration Form For Moot Court Competition :
Instructions :
1. Please read the Rules of the Competition (available on this website) before submitting this form.
2. Please fill out the following Team Registration form in entirety. If any field does not apply to your team, please type “Not applicable”. Partially filled forms cannot be saved or submitted and corrections cannot be made to the registration form once it is submitted to the OC.
3. Please note that only 1 (one) team can register from any eligible institution and a team should obtain prior approval, verbal or written, from the head of their respective institution (or concerned faculty or staff member, as the case may be) before submitting this form.
4. Each team must submit a copy of the Verification Form (available on this website) duly signed and stamped by the head of the institution (or concerned faculty or staff member, as the case may be) within 7 (seven) days of submitting the online form, failing which the registration would not be valid.

Awards & Prizes:
The Winning Team will be awarded a Certificate, Medal and a Cash Prize of Rs. 20,000
The 1st Runner up Team will be awarded a Certificate, Medal and a Cash Prize of Rs. 10,000
The 2nd Runner up Team will be awarded a Certificate, Medal and a Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000
A Certificate of Merit shall also be awarded to the next 7 best teams.
A Certificate of Participation will be awarded to all the participants of the competition.
The OC may invite up to 6 teams to present their papers at the Oxford India Summit 2014, to be held at the India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi, from 14th-16th March 2014, and may select papers for publication in a journal at its discretion.

01 March 2014 : Research Paper results to be published on the competition website
14 Mar 2014 : Oral Round – Research Paper Presentations 4 PM – 9 PM
