Walk in interview for the following temporary positions, purely on contractual basis under the project ‘REDD plus pilot project in the Van Panchayat (Village Community Forests) of Uttarakhand (India)’ funded by Uttrakhand Forest Department will be held on 26-03-2014 in the chamber of Dy. Director General (Research), Room No. 48, ICFRE Headquarters building, Forest Research Institute (FRI) Campus, P.O. New Forest, Dehradun from 10:30 AM onwards.

1 Name of the post : Research Associate

Minimum Educational/ qualification : At least First class M.Sc. in Forestry/ Botany/ Environmental Sciences/Life sciences from a recognised university.
Experience: 3 years experience or Ph.D. in Forest Ecology/Climate Change candidate should have field experience in forest ecological studies, forest measurement, forest biomass/carbon assessment as evidenced by published work
Consolidated Emolument per month (inclusive of HRA) in Rs. : 20,000/-

2 Name of the post : Junior Project Fellow

Minimum Educational/ qualification : First class M.Sc. in Forestry/Botany/ Environmental Sciences/Life sciences from a recognised university with specialisation or field work in climate change
Consolidated Emolument per month (inclusive of HRA) in Rs. : 14,000/-

3 Name of the post : Project Assistant

Minimum Educational/ qualification : Graduate in science with experience of field work in forestry and knowledge of Computer applications or a BCA.
Consolidated Emolument per month (inclusive of HRA) in Rs. : 10,000/-

General Conditions: Engagement will be initially for 12 month which is likely to continue for another one year or till the completion of the project whichever is earlier. Awards of the assignment on contract are governed by the prevailing Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education Rules and other relevant Rules as applicable, and do not guarantee subsequent employment under the Council. Job requires extensive travel in forests areas in hills and candidate willing to travel extensively in the remote forest areas shall only apply.
