IPR INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP-2014 :
The Institute for Plasma Research is a premier scientific institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. of India devoted to research and development activities in the areas of Basic Plasma Physics, Magnetic Confinement fusion and Industrial applications of plasmas. Applications are invited from highly motivated students to pursue doctoral research in the broad areas of theoretical and experimental plasma physics.
Eligibility: M.Sc. in one of the following subjects : Physics, Engineering Physics or Applied Physics with a minimum aggregate of 60%. Students must have Physics and Mathematics at the Under Graduate level. Candidates expecting a Master’s degree in any one of the above subjects by August 31st 2014 can also apply.
Age Limit: Not more than 26 years as on 1st Aug. 2014 (born on or after 01/8/1988).
Selection Procedure: Personal interview of short listed candidates who satisfy the eligibility criterion and have qualified any one of the following:
(i) JEST – 2014 (in Physics)
(ii) GATE in Physics (Paper code PH) in 2013 / 2014 and
(iii) CSIR–UGC-JRF-NET in June or Dec.2013 in Physical Sciences (Subject code PHY).
Stipend & Facilities: 16,000/- per month, raised to 18,000/- per month after two years, subject to satisfactory academic review; a book grant of 10,000/- per year; and accommodation and medical facility at a nominal charge. Students may also be supported partially for attending conferences abroad, once during their tenure. Institute has collaborations with several reputed national / International institutes and universities, where a student may be sent (if found necessary) for research and training during their PhD tenure.

i) A DD of amount Rs. 100/- ( One hundred only ) in favour of INSTITUTE FOR PLASMA RESEARCH, payable at GANDHINAGAR/AHMEDABAD.
ii) A scanned copy of passport size photograph in JPEG format having size less equal to 50 Kb

ii) Envelope should contain following items;
(1) Complete Application form with Signature.
(2) DD of Rs. 100/- with Application ID and NAME written on back side of it.
(3) Photocopy of Class 10th Certificate showing Date of Birth, Or any other valid certificate showing Date of Birth.
(4) Photocopy of M.Sc. Mark sheets. ( Marksheets which are available) and B.Sc final year marksheet
(5) Photocopy of JEST/GATE/CSIR-UGC-NET-JRF marksheet/letter.

3 Once the application is registered you shall be provided an APPLICATION ID which should be mentioned in all the future correspondence with us.
4 An email containing your application form (in PDF format) will be sent to your mentioned mail id within 24 hours, as an acknowledgement.
5 Take the printout of the application form and sign it and mail it to us with Mark sheets and DD
Note :
The tentative dates for personal interview are 21st May – 23rd May and 19th – 20th June. Candidates selected for interview will be paid to-and-fro sleeper class railway fare via the shortest route.
