M.Ed. COURSE

The aim of M.Ed. (D.M) Programme is to provide an opportunity for in-service women teachers to pursue M.Ed. programme for professional development

Objectives of the M.Ed(DM) Programme:
1 To make teachers understand the changing scenario of education with a vision and mission.
2 To make them understand human behavior and practice the psychological principles in teaching, learning and evaluation.
3 To orient teachers towards research in education.
4 To enable them to use the statistical techniques appropriate to the context.
5 To orient teachers with theory and practice of Curriculum Development.
6 To equip techers with knowledge and skills to apply appropriate techniques of educational management, planning and finance.
7 To empower teachers with leadership qualities to face challenges in disaster management

Fee Structure: An amount of Rs.35,000/- (Rupees thirty five thousand) will be collected from each candidate selected for admission towards tuition fee, special fee and the study material supplied at the time of admission (single payment).

Eligibility Criteria:
1. Only women candidates are eligible for admission.
2. The candidate for admission into M.Ed. (D.M) Programme should have passed B.Ed. or its equivalent Degree with a minimum of 55% marks (aggregate of theory and practicum) from Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam or any other University recognized by University Grants Commission. There shall be relaxation of 5% (i.e. 50% minimum marks) for SC/ST candidates as per the rules of State Government of Andhra Pradesh.
3. The candidate must be in-service with a B.Ed. degree and must be working in a recognized educational institute with atleast 2 years of regular full time service after completion of B.Ed. Course
(i) as SGT/ School Assistant/ PRT/ TGT/ PGT, OR (ii) as Lecturer in Colleges / DIETs/SCERTs, OR
(iii) as Administrator as PEO/MEO/Dy. DEO/ DEO/ Principal.

Jurisdiction: The SPMVV being a State-wide Women’s University, its jurisdiction is the whole state of A.P. The seats will be allocated as per University norms.

Admission Procedure:
a) Admissions shall be made on merit basis of marks obtained in B.Ed. Degree or its equivalent Degree with an additional weightage of 1 mark for one year of service upto a maximum of 5 marks.
b) Admission shall be made on the above criteria by following the rule of reservation followed in Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam.
c) Candidates provisionally selected will be interviewed in Distance Education Centre, S.P. Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati and shall be allotted any of the study centres based on the choice of the candidate, as far as possible, by not exceeding 25 per study centre.
d) Mere submission of application will not guarantee a seat.

Duration of the Course:
Course duration : 24 months
M.Ed.(DM) Programme is a two year post graduate programme. No teacher shall be allowed to obtain M.Ed.(DM) degree earlier than two years or later than five years.
Number of Seats: 250 (Two hundred and fifty only)
Medium of instruction: ENGLISH

Study material: Printed study material in English will be supplied to the candidates during the course periodically.

Examination:
1 The candidate shall be required to take an examination at the end of each academic year for 80 marks for each theory paper at the respective study centres.
2 For each theory paper the candidate shall be required to submit 2 Assignments/Projects/ Seminars for internal assessment of 20 marks.
3 Candidates have to submit their dissertation on or before the last day of second year examination. A maximum of 60 days from the date of commencement of second year examination will be allowed.

1. Attested copies of
a. marks list of SSC and B.Ed. or its equivalent Degree.
b. B.Ed. Provisional/Degree or its equivalent Degree certificate
c. Study certificate from 9th to Degree/residence certificate.
d. Conduct Certificate from the institution last studied.
e. Integrated caste certificate
f. relevant certificate if reservation is claimed under other special category
g. Service certificate and no objection certificate duly signed by the competent authority.
