Vote with Passport, Driving License & Aadhar/ PAN/ Health Insurance Smart/ Service Identity/ MNREGA Job Card in Lok Sabha Election 2014:
For the ensuing General Election to Lok Sabha 2014 and Bye-election to TNLA from 28.Alandur Assembly Constituency to be held on 24.04.2014, the Election Commission of India has directed that all electors, who have been issued EPIC have to produce the Elector’s Photo Identity Card for their identification at the polling station before casting their votes. Those electors who are not able to produce the EPIC and those electors who are not able to establish the identity of the elector on account of mismatch of the photograph, etc. shall produce one of the following alternative photo identity documents for establishing their identity :-

Vote With:
(i) Passport
(ii) Driving License
(iii) Service Identity Cards with photograph issued to employees by Central/State Govt. PSUs/Public Limited Companies
(iv) Passbooks with photograph issued by Bank/Post Office
(v) PAN Card
(vi) Aadhar Card
(vii) Smart Card issued by RGI under NPR
(viii) MNREGA Job Card
(ix) Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour
(x) Pension document with photograph; and
(xi) Authenticated Photo Voter Slip issued by the election machinery

The Commission has also directed that Authenticated Photo Voter Slips shall be distributed to all electors a few days before the poll day. On the day of poll one officer (BLO) will be on duty outside each polling station, during polling hours with undistributed Photo Voter Slips, so that any elector who has not been issued Authenticated Photo Voter Slip can collect their Authenticated Photo Voter Slip in original outside the polling stations.

It is also clarified that if any elector uses an Elector’s Photo Identity Card, which has been issued by the Electoral Registration Officer of another Assembly Constituency, such cards shall also be taken into account provided the name of that elector finds place in the electoral roll pertaining to the polling station. The possession of Elector’s Photo Identity Cards or other form of identity prescribed by the Commission above will not entitle a person to exercise his/her vote, unless his/her name is found in the Electoral Roll supplied to the Polling Station.

Note :
At many places, the weekly ‘Sandhai’ day may fall on the poll day namely, 24.04.2014 (Thursday) for the General Elections to Lok Sabha 2014. In order to enable the voters to exercise their franchise, the Collectors have been instructed to postpone such ‘Sandhai’ day to the next day, i.e. 25.04.2014 (Friday). Necessary arrangements will be made by the Collectors to announce this change of ‘Sandhai’ day
