It is notified for information of all concerned that the SLET Commission, Assam (N. E. Region) will hold the next SET (State Eligibility Test) to examine eligibility for appointment of Lecturer in Colleges and Universities on 16-11-14 in the centres located at the Universities of Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Tripura, and at Sikkim Govt. College for Sikkim State. For the purpose the following schedule has been fixed

Fee :
The cost of Test form is Rs. 400.00 per form and shall have to be paid in cash at the time of collection. Along with the form, the syllabus for Paper –I and syllabus of subjects for test, with an Information Brochure furnishing all necessary information viz, fees to be paid, mode of payment, eligibility criteria etc., will also be issued.
There is a provision for down-loading the Test Form from our website sletne.org but the cost of the Test Form of Rs. 400.00 each shall have to be paid along with the fee for the test.

Selection :
The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions, in two separate sessions as under

First II 100 50 questions (all are compulsory) 1¼ Hours (10.30A.M. to 11.45 A.M)
Second III 150 75 questions (all are compulsory) 2½ Hours (1 P.M to 3.30 P.M)

Procedure & Criteria For Declaration Of Result:
This will comprise of the following steps;
Step I: The candidates are required to obtain following minimum marks separately in Paper I, Paper II and Paper III for consideration of Results.

Step II:
Amongst those candidates who have cleared step I, a general merit list will be prepared subject-wise. Another merit list subject-wise and category-wise will also be prepared. In preparing these lists the aggregate marks of all the three papers secured by such candidates, will be the basis.

Step III:
15% of the candidates come under consideration as per Step I will be worked out subject-wise and category-wise, and the result will be finalized as per formula below;
(i) Top candidates of the general merit list will be selected (equal to 15% of the general category) serially subject-wise irrespective of category.
(ii) Top 15% of the other candidate subject-wise and category-wise will be selected from the list prepared subject-wise and category-wise excluding those included in the general category.
It may be noted that the above qualifying criteria decided by SLET Commission (Moderation/Steering Committee) is final and binding.

3. Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing in the Master Degree examination may also apply as per provision of Eligibility (Mentioned in Information Brochure).
4. Successful candidates will be eligible for appointment in the above States and Meghalaya only.

How to Apply :
Test forms and other documents as mentioned above will be available with the Universities (respective centres) as mentioned above. Candidates may collect and deposit it in the centre where they intend to appear. For the candidates appearing at the Guwahati centre, the forms will be issued and received in the office of the SLET Commission, Assam presently located at the 2nd Floor of B K B Auditorium, Gauhati University.
