Ph.D. Entrance Test (2014) :
The University invites application form in the prescribed format for the entrance test (written and interview) for admission to the Ph.D. programme for the academic session 2014-15.

ELIGIBILITY FOR REGISTRATION:
** The Ph.D. degree shall be open to the Candidates, who have obtained a Masters Degree of any University established by law in force or any other degree recognized as equivalent thereto in Law with minimum of 55% marks or its equivalent (50% marks or its equivalent for SC/ST/PH).
** Exemption: Candidates, who have qualified for UGC- NET (Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)/ lectureship) or SLET, shall be exempted from the Entrance Test. However the exempted candidates shall be required to appear for the interview like other candidates who are required to appear in the entrance test for Ph.D.
** The candidate must possess the requisite qualifications on the date of Interview.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:
** All eligible candidates should apply in the Prescribed Form on or before the date prescribed by the University.
** The fees (non-refundable) for the Application Form shall be Rs. 1500/- (Rs. 1000/- for SC/ST/PH candidates). A Bank Draft of the said amount, drawn in favour of Registrar, Hidayatullah National Law University, payable at Raipur, should be attached with the Application Form.
** The Centre for the Written Test and Interview shall be the Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur only.
** No TA/DA shall be paid to any candidate for appearing in Written Test and Interview.
** The Written Test shall be exclusively in English Language.
** The Syllabus for the Written Test has been attached herewith.
** On the basis of marks obtained in the written test, a merit list will be prepared, in the ratio of 3 candidates against 1 available seat, to call the candidates for an interview. Based on the performance of the candidates in the written test and interview both, the final merit list shall be prepared for approval by the Vice Chancellor for admission.

FINAL SELECTION:
** Only eligible and short-listed candidates will be called for Interview.
** The eligible and short-listed candidates will be selected for Admission on the basis of their interse merit in the Interview.
** Mere fact that the name of a candidate appears in the Merit List, will not give any right to the candidate to get admission to the Ph.D. Programme.
** All the Research Scholars registered for the Ph.D. Programme shall abide by the Regulations and Rules framed by the University from time to time.

FEES AND OTHER CHARGES:
** Candidates selected for registration to the Ph.D. Degree Programme shall be enrolled by the University after the remission of the following fees:

a) Caution money 5000/-
b) Hostel Deposit 5000/-
10 Development fee 1000/- (per annum)

** Late fee of Rs. 200/- shall be charged for the first ten days after the due date of registration notified by the University. But for students who have gone outside the state for fieldwork with due permission of the Vice Chancellor and on the recommendation of the supervisor, no late fee shall be charged for first ten days after return from the fieldwork.

** Fee once paid to the University shall not be refunded except the caution money and hostel deposit which shall be paid back to the Ph.D. scholars within three months from the date of award of Ph.D. Degree or the cancellation of the registration, whichever is earlier.
** Payment towards mess facility shall be made separately.

Final Declaration of Merit List- 02 Aug. 2014
