Applications are invited for admission to the following courses offered by the Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhubaneswar for the session 2014–2015 in ONLINE/OFFLINE modes. Candidates seeking admission should have passed the qualifying examinations from a recognized Board/Council/University. The courses are affiliated to Utkal University, Bhubaneswar and recognized by NCTE, New Delhi. The medium of instruction is English for all the courses.

1. Name Of The Course : Four Year Integrated B.A.B.Ed.
Eligibility : Pass in +2 Arts/Science/Commerce stream with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Candidates who have passed +2 Examination before 2013 will not be considered for admission.

2. Name Of The Course : Two Year B.Ed. (Secondary)
Eligibility : Pass in +3 Degree Examination in Arts/Science with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Candidates who have passed +3 Degree Examination before 2010 will not be considered for admission.
(i) Science Stream :
a. Phy. Sc. & Mathematics (PM)
b. Phy. Sc. & Bio. Sc. (PB)
Pass in +3 Science Examination with any one of the following subject combinations;
(a) Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for PM, and
(b) Chemistry, Botany and Zoology for PB, out of which one subject should have been studied for THREE YEARS.
(ii) Arts Stream : Pass in +3 Arts Examination with at least two school subjects i.e., one from (a) and one from (b) below;
(a) English, Hindi, Odia, and Bengali, and
(b) History, Geography, Political Science, and Economics, out of which any one subject should have been studied for THREE YEARS.

3. Name Of The Course : One Year M.Ed.
Eligibility : Pass in B.Ed. with 55% marks in aggregate or B.Sc.B.Ed./B.A.B.Ed. with 55% marks in Education component.

4. Name Of The Course : M.Sc. (Life Science)
Eligibility : Ed. Pass in 4 Year Integrated B.Sc.B.Ed. with Chemistry, Botany, Zoology (CBZ) as in RIEs of NCERT with 55% marks each in Science and Education components or B.Sc. in CBZ with either Botany or Zoology studied for THREE YEARS with 55% marks in aggregate and B.Ed. with 55% marks from any recognized University.

5. Name Of The Course : M. Phil. in Education
Eligibility : Post Graduate Degree in Education/M.Ed. with minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.

Mode Of Selection :
(a) On the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examination for courses at Sl. No. 1 (One) and 2 (Two).
(b) On the basis of marks secured in the qualifying examination and ENTRANCE TEST for courses at Sl. No. 3, (Three), 4 (Four) and 5 (Five). The details of these entrance tests shall be announced on our website

Tuition Fee: Tuition fee of ` 250/- per month shall be charged from every candidate except SC/ST.

Scholarship: Scholarships are awarded to students as per NCERT rules.

How To Apply:
i) Candidates may apply for all courses at Sl. No. 1 to 5 in either ONLINE or OFFLINE mode following the procedure laid down in the RIE Bhubaneswar website.Separate application form along with application fee is required for each course and subject combination.

ii) Please note that for offline applications the relevant forms are to be downloaded from the RIE Bhubaneswar website mentioned above.

iii) Filled in offline applications for all courses should be sent to

along with relevant enclosures so as to reach RIE Bhubaneswar not later than 5.30 p.m. of 30.06.2014.

iv) Each OFFLINE application form should be sent with the following enclosures;
(a) copy of SB Collect transaction slip or Demand Draft as proof of payment of application fee,
(b) self-attested photocopies of Certificates and Mark Sheets from H.S.C. onwards and Documents/Certificates for claiming state quota and category, and
(c) a self-addressed Post Card.
