4th NATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS
Last Date of Submission of entries is 31st January 2015
TITLE :
These Guidelines shall be called the NATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS Guidelines.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES :
To promote Nation’s, Art, Culture, Development, Heritage, History, Life, People, Society, Traditions, etc with art and technique of photography and to encourage professional and amateur photographers from all corners of the country.
COMMENCEMENT :
The Guidelines shall come into force with immediate effect.
AWARDS :
Following type of Awards shall be presented by the Photo Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
a) LIFE-TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
LIFE-TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD shall be awarded to renowned photographers of the country who have made long and outstanding contribution in the various fields of photography at the National and International level. And whose photographic work has also contributed in various sectors for the development of the society.
b) NATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS UNDER PROFESSIONAL CATEGORY
i) Professional Photographer of the Year.
ii) Special Mention Awards for Professional Photographers.
C) NATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS UNDER AMATEUR CATEGORY
i) Amateur Photographer of the Year.
ii) Special Mention Awards for Amateur Photographers.

a) LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
** Cash Prize of Rs. 1, 50,000

b) AWARDS FOR PROFESSIONAL CATEGORY
i. Professional Photographer of the Year:
** Cash Prize of Rs. 100,000
** Special Medal or Plaque
** A Citation
ii. Special Mention Award (Professional)
** Cash Prize of Rs. 15,000
** Special Medal or Plaque
** A Citation
c) AWARDS FOR AMATEUR CATEGORY
i. Amateur Photographer of the Year:
** Cash Prize of Rs. 75,000

ii. Special Mention Awards (Amateur)
** Cash Prize of Rs. 10,000 each
** Special Medal or Plaque
** A Citation
Winning images in all the categories of awards will be exhibited in major States in the country and also displayed on official website of the Division to get worldwide promotion of the winners.
PROCEDURE FOR SELECTION :
(a) All the Awards shall be recommended by a Selection Committee duly constituted by the Ministry of I&B, Government of India.
(b) The Committee shall comprise of a Chairman and not more than five members distinguished in the field of Photography or allied arts.
(c) The Committee will determine its own work procedure.
(d) Any person directly or indirectly associated with any of the entries for competition or the competitors shall not be eligible to serve on the Committee.
(e) A person appointed as Chairman or member of the Committee shall make a declaration in writing in the form given in Schedule II to these guidelines.
(f) The quorum for the deliberations of the Committee shall be at least 50% of the members of the Committee including the Chairman.
(g) The Committee shall give its recommendations to the Ministry.
(h) The Committee shall have the discretion not to recommend awards in any particular category if it is of the opinion that the entries in a particular category are not of the appropriate standard.
(i) The decision of the Ministry of I&B shall be final and no appeal or correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
