ADMISSION INTO SUPER SPECIALITY COURSES OF DM/M.Ch.

Introduction :
Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences is a State-wide University as declared by the Presidential Order, 1974. The admissions to the Super Speciality courses leading to D.M. and M.Ch. degrees are governed by AP Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as issued in G.O.P.No. 646, dated 10-7-1979 and as amended from time to time.

Notification :
Applications are invited from eligible candidates of Andhra Pradesh for admission into the DM/M.Ch super specialty courses for the year 2014

Eligibility :
a) Candidates who have passed (MD/MS/DNB) examination from Medical Colleges recognized by MCI or its statutory equivalent are eligible. Candidates who will be completing training period on or before 30/06/2014 are also eligible to apply, provided the candidates submit 1. a certificate issued by the Principal / Dean of college regarding the likely date of completion of the course and acquiring the eligible qualification and 2. a declaration by the candidate, failing which their applications will be rejected.
b) No condonation of training period shall be accepted unless approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) along with submission of necessary proof. The condonation of training period shall be restricted to the period ending on 30-06-2014 and not beyond. The condonation certificate must be submitted along with the application form.
c) The candidates who have already registered for any regular course at NIMS and would like to apply for admission to another course shall resign from such Training / course in the Institute duly fulfilling the conditions of the bond and failure to do so may render their application liable for rejection.

How to Apply :
1. Application form is available at nims.edu.in from 09-04-2014 to 30-04-2014.

2. A candidate must submit hard copy of the application form.

3. The application form may be downloaded and filled appropriately. Please note that all the columns in the application form require to be filled in. Incomplete application forms are liable to be rejected.

4. A candidate can apply for only one subject. Once chosen, a candidate is not allowed to choose another subject under any circumstances

5. A demand draft may be obtained for Rs.2,000/- (Rupees two thousand only) in favour of the Director, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, payable at Hyderabad or by paying Rs.2,000/- in NIMS cash counter in person towards application fee. The candidates must write his/her name and course applied for on the back side of the DD/NIMS cash receipt. Application fee is non-refundable even if the application is summarily rejected. The demand draft or NIMS cash receipt shall be dated between 09-04-2014 to 30-04-2014.

6. The filled-in Application form will have to be printed and signed. The hard copy of the filled-in application form with all necessary documents (Annexure I) and the DD/NIMS cash receipt shall be submitted in person or sent by post to the

    Can candidates outside andhra pradesh apply for this exam?

    1. The local area reservations are made as per the procedure described in the Annexure IV of the GOP 646 dated 10th July, 1979 and may be seen at
      http://www.nims.edu.in. The following allocations are accordingly made for the three regions of the state of Andhra Pradesh.
      a) Andhra University (AU) : 42%
      b) Osmania University (OU) : 36% and
      c) Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) : 22%
